Depending n what shows n your credit record and how much your annual income is too. A few lenders will stop at age 65 forthe mortgage but some will go higher, to 75/80 as long as you can show the ability to repay the mortgage past the traditional retirement age of 65. By all means pop me an email through or check my website.

I am 68, receiving pensions and self-employed monies from my sole trader business amounting to £45K (plus my 81 yr old husband has £18 pa). I am not planning on retiring in the near future. Our current mortgage - interest only - is £45K. I would like to remortgage our £650K home to be able to buy my daughter's London flat so she and her baby can move nearer to us asap. I would be looking for a remortgage of around £250K - can you tell me which lenders would look favourably on this? I don't want an Equity Release or other "pensioners" scheme.

I think remortgaging your assets is not a good thing as it will literally end your possession on your property. At this age you should not take any loans and rely on your pension.

Remortgaging will also let you raise money to buy a new house, a new car or for renovation. The advantage here is that in order to raise money for these purposes, remortgage is much cheaper as opposed to personal loans or credit cards.
