My partner and I split 18 months ago. He was happy for me and our kids to live in our jointly owned property. The current mortgage deal ends in September and he has informed me that he now wants his name off the mortgage and I need to either buy him out or sell the property.
My bank are not willing for me to take the mortgage on myself as I work part time even though I have met every payment since taking it out and they do not offer guarantor mortgages.
As this is my childrens home would my ex be able to make them homeless?
I have been looking at other banks and building societies that do offer guarantor mortgages but their interest rates are too high.
I have approx 20% deposit, a guarantor if required and an excellent credit history but no-one seems to want to take me on.
