1st off Newbie saying hello.


Right to business - we have come to the pint with our current mortgage where we want to change lenders due to the discount period ending soon, we are not tied so that's not a problem, but we have yet to have an annual statement off the lender. So the wife phones them up and they ask for the mortgage number . . . we don't have it because they never sent it!! No problem they will search on address, no luck tried names, no luck, tried old address you guessed it no luck, even the direct debit ref no. for the payment they are taking rings no bells. Basically they have no record of our application, the offer or sending our solicitor (now retied) the money. But our solicitor received it and sent it to the house builder. We have been in the house well over a year.
Our mortgage adviser is currently pursue the application we made with them with out giving them too much details to see if they processed it. But was struggling to get any where with them.
Where do we stand and what can we do about it? If they don't think we exist on their system then I take it we don't owe them any money!

I think in such condition no exact answer can come from my side because every lender has different rules and regulation .Details of such lending is also not much clear.So,I think you should consult a good professional advisor on the matter.He can guide you well according to law of the land.
