I have a very poor credit history. My boyfriend has an impeccable credit history. He has a mortgage at present but wants me to go on the mortgage so that we can get a bigger house is there anyway we can declare my earnings without putting my name on the mortgage? or is there any other way that I can be considered when we look at mortgages?

Thanks

That will depend on exactly what is on your credit file.

Obtain a copy and then speak to an indpendent mortgage broker. They will be able to suggest the best course of action.

If it isn't too bad then you may even be able to go to a mainstream lender.

Alternatively you may need to look at lenders who specialise in bad credit, although this may work out too expensive to be worthwhile.

Your broker should be able to suggest ideas for improving your credit rating too.

To apply for bad credit refinancing, one should look for both short-term and long-term financial benefits. Planning the time you want to stay on your property is yet another important point to be considered. A sensible way to realize how much beneficial bad credit home refinancing can be is by figuring out how long and what cost it will take to pay off the present debts.

I think that this is the best course of action... if you trust your broker :)

Hi,

If you're earnings are going to be considered then you will need to be on the Mortgage. Most if not all Mortgage lenders will use Equifax or Experian to check your credit record.

The first step maybe to get a copy of your credit record and see how bad it is.

Hope this helps

Sean

A mortgage loan is a loan secured by real property through the use of a mortgage note which evidences the existence of the loan and the encumbrance of that realty through the granting of a mortgage which secures the loan. However, the word mortgage alone, in everyday usage, is most often used to mean mortgage loan.
