Gifted deposit 7 Months, 1 Week ago
My mum passed away in May this year. She left a property which is to be sold and split between me and my siblings. My brother wants to buy the house and he has mentioned using his share of the house being used as a gifted deposit. Can he do this and whats involved?

Your brother would already have an equity share of the property as would the other siblings. He would essentially be remortgaging an unencumbered property (which could not really be done until he has owned the property for a full 6 months. There would be no gifted deposit involved.
